FRIENDLY PROTECTION FROM BATS

Crop protection with bat netting

Its bat season again…

Mangos, longans, lychees, and even the apple and stone fruit growers are being visited by our fruit bats or the critters also known as flying foxes.

The Fruit bat lives primarily on palm fruit but with the abundance of mangos and delicious tropical fruit in home gardens, their diets have become varied and they are truly spoilt for choice.

To prevent home grown fruit being destroyed by the voracious appetite of a swarm of fruit bats, NetPro have created bat friendly netting solutions.Create a supporting frame, whether it Is a star pickets and poly pipe frame or an aluminium green house or a massive wooden / steel structure, the structure is key.

  • Apply the net and attach the net to the structure with clip lock thus creating a strong tight surface. When pulled taut, the netting poses no threat to the bats, and they bounce off.
  • Ensure the base of the net around trees or the perimeter of your structure is secured.
  • A tightly drawn net will also support the weight of a foraging possum, without allowing the possum to compromise the fruit tree cover.
  • Slack draped and floppy nets are dangerous to birds, snakes, possums and bats.

The research conducted by NetPro, has ensured the development of the right product for the prevention of bird, bat and possum damage, regardless of your garden size. Bat Net, Fruit Fly Net and Hail Guard are all products recommended for the prevention of crop damage.
